Monika Isaak
Fraser Valley Refugee Readiness Team

Having been born into a family with a refugee background, experienced the joys and challenges of growing up in a host-country, and later immigrating to Canada, Monika learned to appreciate and celebrate people’s diverse cultural differences from an early age. Since 2019, she has been working with Archway Community Services, first as a Youth Worker and then as Program Coordinator, to support and help immigrants and newcomers to Canada thrive in their new home. Her most recent position as the Refugee Integration Liaison has allowed her to advocate for newly arriving refugees and displaced Ukrainians and build partnerships with community members and organizations with the goal of creating a stronger and increasingly interconnected community. She holds her BA in Biblical Studies and a minor in Caregiving and Counselling from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and her MA in Theological Studies from the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and enjoys intentional conversations with friends and moments spent outdoors in her free time. Monika is passionate about her profession and aspires to help establish positive integration strategies for newcomers.
